All Water Camps
Take your paddling from flat water to the ocean.
Whether you’re new to paddling or an experienced flatwater paddler looking to develop your ocean skills, All Water Camps will help you become a more confident, capable and intuitive paddler.
Learn to read the ocean, adapt your technique and work with wind, swell and confused sea states — rather than simply reacting to it.
No previous ocean experience is required.

Why Paddle the Ocean?
The ocean is constantly changing. Learning to harness its energy can seem like a dark art, yet it offers endless opportunities that challenge and develop us as paddlers. Ultimately by becoming more comfortable in uncomfortable situations our enjoyment and skills continue to increase.
Unlike flat water, where conditions can be relatively predictable, the wind, swell, current and water movement are continually interacting with each other.
Learning to paddle in these conditions changes the way you think about paddling.

How do you read a swell?
Where is the energy in the water?
How does the wind affect your boat?
When should you commit to a bump — and when should you back off?
How do you adapt your technique as the conditions change?
And perhaps most importantly, how do you make those decisions for yourself?
That’s what we work on.
We don’t expect you to arrive already knowing how to paddle the ocean.
We give you the knowledge, experience and coaching to progressively develop those skills.
A Four-Level Journey
Our progressive programme takes you from developing your foundations in a V6 through to confident individual paddling in an OC1.
Each level builds on the last, but every camp is adapted to the conditions and the people on the water.
The All Water Progression
The programme follows a four-level progression, with each level building upon the previous.
The first three levels are primarily V6-based, giving you the opportunity to develop ocean skills within the support of a crew.
Level 4 begins the transition towards OC1 and individual ocean paddling, where you start applying what you’ve learned and developing your own relationship with the ocean.
Level 1 — Foundations
Build confidence and develop the essential skills for paddling in rougher water and the ocean.
Build the foundations for confident ocean paddling.
Whether you are relatively new to paddling or an experienced flatwater paddler discovering the ocean for the first time, Level 1 introduces the fundamental skills needed to understand and enjoy moving water.
We explore:
- efficient paddling technique
- boat handling
- basic ocean awareness
- wind and swell
- reading the water
- working effectively as a V6 crew
- safety and decision-making
The emphasis is on understanding rather than simply following instructions.
You’ll begin to develop the ability to look at the conditions and understand what they mean for you and your boat.

Improve technique, paddle efficiency and crew awareness while learning to work with wind, swell and more confused water.
Build confidence and start using the ocean rather than simply reacting to it.
Having established the foundations, Level 2 develops your ability to adapt your paddling to changing conditions.
We explore technique, efficiency, crew dynamics and the interaction between wind, swell and boat speed.
You’ll begin to develop a deeper understanding of:
- connecting with moving water
- using swell and wind
- adapting technique to conditions
- crew communication and awareness
- pacing and energy management
- developing confidence in more dynamic conditions
Land-based workshops complement the practical sessions, helping you understand the principles behind what you’re experiencing on the water.
Book online now!Level 3 — Ocean Skills
Develop your downwind skills, learn to read the ocean and become more confident in challenging conditions.
Bring everything together in more challenging conditions.
Level 3 develops your ability to read the ocean and make increasingly independent decisions within a V6.
We’ll explore more advanced ocean skills, including downwind paddling, linking bumps and working with moving water.
Depending on conditions and individual goals, sessions may also cover:
- advanced paddling technique
- downwind skills
- ocean reading and decision-making
- training principles
- nutrition and hydration
- recovery and fatigue
- developing your own training programme
- performance preparation
The emphasis is on developing a deeper and more intuitive understanding of the ocean.
Book online now!Level 4 — OC1
Take your skills from the V6 to the OC1. Learn to read, ride and connect with the ocean as an individual paddler, learning to link bumps, increase speed and reduce energy expenditure.
Take your ocean skills from the crew to the individual paddler.
Level 4 marks a new stage in your paddling journey.
The knowledge and skills developed through V6 are now applied to the OC1, where you become responsible for your own boat, your own decisions and your own relationship with the ocean.
We explore:
- OC1 technique and boat handling
- reading and using swell
- catching and linking bumps
- surfing
- downwind paddling
- choosing and adapting lines
- managing changing conditions
- individual decision-making
- building confidence in the OC1
The goal isn’t simply to teach you how to paddle an OC1.
It’s to give you the understanding and judgement to paddle confidently and make good decisions for yourself in the ocean.

Our coaching combines practical experience with evidence-based performance principles.
Sessions mix on-water coaching with short land-based workshops, covering everything from technique and ocean awareness to training, nutrition and performance.
The ocean doesn’t follow a programme — so we don’t either. We adapt each camp to make the most of the conditions on the day.
Every Camp Is Different
The ocean doesn’t follow a programme — so neither do we.
Every camp combine land-based workshops with practical coaching on the water.
The objectives of each level remain consistent, but the order and emphasis of sessions can change according to the conditions, the group and individual needs.
If the conditions are perfect for downwind paddling, we’ll make the most of them.
If the ocean gives us something different, we’ll adapt.
This flexibility is an important part of learning to paddle the ocean: you learn to work with the conditions rather than expecting the ocean to work around you.
Expertise & Experience
With a lifetime spent on the ocean across foiling, surfing, Ocean Ski, SUP and outrigger canoe, I bring a broad practical understanding of how different craft move and how we interact with the ocean.
This practical experience is underpinned by an academic understanding of sports performance and skill development with a Masters in Sports Science.
The result is a coaching approach that combines practical experience with evidence-based performance coaching.

Our Ethos
Our aim is to share knowledge and develop both confidence and skill in a safe but challenging environment.
We don’t believe in simply telling paddlers what to do.
We want you to understand why you’re doing it.
The better you understand your craft, the conditions and your own paddling, the better decisions you can make for yourself.
Ultimately, we want to develop paddlers who become increasingly independent and intuitive on the water.
Your ocean journey doesn’t end here.
Once you’ve completed the pathway, you can continue developing through:
- V6 Performance Camps
- OC1 Development
- Small-Group Coaching
- 1-to-1 Coaching
- Race Preparation
- Specialist Crew Camps
We can also create tailored camps for existing V6 crews or groups, including steering, crew integration and downwind development.
The four-level pathway provides a clear progression, but not every paddler has the same goals.
We also offer specialist camps for paddlers and crews who want to focus on a particular area.
These may include:
- V6 steering
- crew integration
- downwind crew development
- OC1 skills
- ocean awareness
- race preparation
- performance and technique
- specific conditions or objectives
Specialist camps can be arranged for existing crews, groups or individual paddlers and don’t necessarily need to follow the four-level pathway.
If you have a specific goal, talk to us about creating a camp around it.
